Natural Curl Specialist Training

This course is spread out over 7 sessions meant to build your tight curl skills from the ground up. We anticipate that you will invest up to 1-2 hours weekly engaging in practicing the content and working with tight curl mannequins and models to apply what you have learned.
Upon completion of this course, along with putting in the practice on tight curl mannequins, models, and clients, you will have the skills and confidence to build and sustain a thriving behind-the-chair practice that is inclusive of ALL hair types and curl patterns.

Virtual Instruction
Natural Hair 101
We will apply foundational cosmetology theory to tight curls as a way to assess the hair. The Essential Elements allow you to see and understand all hair while gaining confidence and understanding of tight curl structure
Session 2
Virtual Instruction
Curl Product Process
We take a brand agnostic deep dive through the products and processes we’ve found that simplify the care and styling process for tight curls.
Session 3
Virtual Instruction
Twists & Twist Out 1
We show you a technique to ensure your twist has the best hold while in twist, and even better definition when taking the twist out for a twist set.
Session 4
In-Person Instruction
Twists & Twist Out 2
This is where you will have hands-on time with a mannequin. Together we will work on perfecting your technique and enhancing your confidence.
Session 5
Virtual Instruction
Art of the Wash N Go 1
We bring in live client models to demonstrate thorough cleansing & conditioning methods for hydration, product selection and application, for desired finish, and styling the dry set.
Session 6
In-Person Instruction
Art of the Wash N Go 2
We bring your hands to the hair. You are able to be hands-on with a live model. Complete a full wash and style with cleansing, conditioning, and product application for a Wash n Go.
Wash N Go Specialist Training
$475
This course provides a virtual and hands-on approach to learning. We will be teaching: how to properly detangle, plus education on different hair types. We thoroughly break down the Hydrate & Define Set, aka the wash and go, to enhance the natural curl pattern of the hair. We explore cleansing & conditioning methods for hydration, product selection and application for desired finish, along with styling.
Upon completion of this course, you will have the behind-the-chair skills to create a thriving wash n go on ALL hair types and curl patterns.
We anticipate that you will invest up to 1-2 hours weekly engaging in the content and working with textured-hair mannequins and models to apply what you have learned.

Twist Set Specialist Training

This course provides a virtual and hands-on approach to learning. We will be teaching: how to properly detangle, proper product selection and application based on the hair’s needs, and effective twist techniques.

We show you a long-lasting Flat Strand & Two-Strand Twist technique to ensure your twists have the best hold while in the style, and even better definition when taking the twist out for a twist set.
Session 3
In-Person Instruction
Twists & Twist Out 2
In this session, you will have hands-on time with a mannequin. Perfecting your Flat Strand & Two-Strand Twist technique and enhancing your confidence in taking down twists for a Twist Out.
Mommy & Me Training
Training Cost: $650
Time Commitment: 5 hours
This 5 hour session (in-person) is exclusive to mothers and their children. Service provides mommy’s with a hands-on approach for learning. We will be teaching: how to properly detangle, proper product selection and application based on your child’s hair needs, effective curl setting for dry or unmanageable hair, and education on styling alternatives for active children.
This service is for a mother/child duo for one child 16 years or younger ($200 per additional child). The child will receive a Cleansing Wash, and can either be styled into a Wash N Go or Basic Twist set.
Dedicated to educating naturalista mommies and their mini on the art and science of their tight curly + natural hair.
